Where Do We Meet?

K Lazy 3 is based out of Lincoln, MT. The nearest airport is in Great Falls, MT, and we offer a complimentary airport pickup. The night before your trip begins, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner where you'll meet your guides and fellow adventurers, and we’ll go over any last-minute details.

Our tours operate in the stunning Montana Scapegoat Wilderness area, with two backcountry camp bases located 14 and 18 miles from the Indian Meadows Trailhead. The trailhead is about 60 miles northwest of Helena and 15 miles northeast of Lincoln.

Start/End Times

On the first day of your trip, we’ll meet at 7:00 AM outside the hotel and carpool to the trailhead. On return days, we aim to arrive back at the hotel before dinner.

Safety Considerations

Your safety is our number one priority. All our pack trips are led by experienced, professional guides and wranglers who are certified in first aid and CPR. Our guides are equipped with years of wilderness experience and extensive risk management training. We carry satellite phones on most tours for emergency communication. If you have any safety concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to contact Kenny Low at (406) 939-2546 or email Kenny@KLazy3SummerAdventures.com.

Guides, Group Size, and Age Requirements

Each of our trips is led by a trained, experienced guide with extensive wilderness knowledge and a passion for leading adventurers into the heart of Montana’s natural beauty. Our guides are certified in first aid and CPR, and many have years of personal experience in hiking, hunting, and navigating the wilderness.

Our standard group size is 4 guests per guide, with a maximum of 10 guests and 2 guides. For questions about group size, call us at (406) 939-2546, and we’ll be happy to provide more details.

Age Restrictions:

  • 12 years and older may join scheduled tours (mixed groups).
  • 5 years and older may join private tours with final approval. Special logistical needs (such as porter or stock assistance) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Weather in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex

The Bob Marshall Wilderness is a northern mountain environment, known for its unpredictable weather. Be prepared for sudden temperature and weather changes—June can bring snow, especially at higher elevations, while the summer months usually bring at least one rainstorm. To make sure you're prepared, we recommend following our clothing checklist carefully to ensure you have everything you need for all weather conditions.
